Main house - The library


Our heritage library is a welcoming, characterful space ideal for meetings, workshops, and small group activities. With room for up to 12 people, it offers a calm, creative setting at an affordable rate of £16 per hour, or £13 per hour for members and block bookings. It’s a perfect choice for groups looking for a cosy, inspiring venue with friendly on‑site support.
Main House Sitting room


A bright, elegant heritage space overlooking the garden, the Sitting Room blends William Morris wallpaper, restored period features and handcrafted details made by our volunteers. Once used to welcome distinguished guests—including explorer Fridtjof Nansen—it now offers a characterful setting for meetings, workshops and intimate gatherings. The room accommodates up to 20 people, with hire at £23 per hour, or £15 per hour for members and block bookings. Please note that the Lounge provides through‑access to a ramp for visitors with mobility needs.
Main House Drawing Room


Steeped in Arts and Crafts heritage, the Drawing Room features a striking wooden ceiling, Morris, Marshall & Faulkner fireplace tiles, and stained‑glass panels of lady musicians glowing in the natural light. Influenced by friends of the Spence Watsons—including William Morris, Myles Birket Foster and William Bell Scott—the room is rich in original period detail, complemented by deep blue embroidered curtains handmade by our volunteers. This distinctive space accommodates up to 20 people, with hire at £23 per hour, or £15 per hour for members and block bookings.
Main House - Conservatory


Added after 1900 as an orangery for growing exotic plants and fruit, the Conservatory now offers a bright, uplifting space enriched by its 2012 restoration. Hand‑made ceramic flooring, new stained‑glass windows and decorative door plates—created by students in the Arts and Crafts tradition—give the room a distinctive, creative feel. This light-filled space accommodates up to 15 people, with hire at £16 per hour, or £13 per hour for members and block bookings.
Full House


Our beautiful Arts and Crafts house offers a unique, characterful setting for meetings, workshops and community events, with each room showcasing original period features, handcrafted details and views of the garden. Hiring the full house gives you exclusive access to our heritage spaces—including the Sitting Room, Drawing Room and Conservatory—creating a warm, inspiring environment for groups who want something truly distinctive. It’s an ideal choice for larger activities, creative programmes and special gatherings that benefit from multiple rooms and flexible use of space.
